Le Mans 24 hour 2005

Another year, another set of door stickers for the cars. And that can only mean… another eventful few days at the Le Mans 24 hour race, this time with my chum Gary,   plus Caz & Debbie in that lovely Carnival Red LM500.

Weather report; Hot! Hot! Hot!

Once again the trusty Travelodge at Folkestone hosted our group before we queued up for the Eurotunnel for a hassle free journey under the channel surrounded by some nice sports cars. On Friday we gathered with the great & the good at Arnage Corner to see & be seen.

Did I mention the weather? It was HOT! If only there had been a way to cool down somehow…

Heading back to the UK on the Monday with regular stops for you-know-what before embarking on the train back to good old Blighty.

I’m cream-crackered but in summary, the race was good although despite shelling out on a full service prior to the trip down, I still ended up with clutch & engine problems resulting in severely reduced posing time. Outrageous! To cap it all, my windscreen cracked just before we arrived back in the UK. The last of the original Finnish ones I believe  so I guess I’m doomed to one of the horrible new ones from MHS with the enormous conductive silver strip around the edge. Eugh.
